Today morning, I read some cool news. That is first iPhone threat built by 11 year old kid. I already posted about iPhone (What i Won’t Do & iPhone Sucks ). I can’t believe kid can do 8). last few months ago a teenage boy also hacked iPhone. Let’s read detail news.

A few days ago, the first iPhone threat spotted in the wild made the tour of the virtual world, as security companies warned the owners of the Apple device that a fake firmware update might be more dangerous than they had expected. But before getting into today’s piece of news, let’s do some recap.

As you may have heard, a fake and malicious iPhone firmware update was rolled out on the web, insisting
that people’s devices should be updated as soon as possible. Although some iPhone owners may get really
scared, it’s not the case. And this because the threat isn’t really dangerous for your gadget. The only thing it does is “taking up 90K of the unit’s memory”, according to Trend Micro, and overwrite some files. This obviously causes serious problems for the gadget, because uninstalling the firmware automatically removes other programs, such as Erica’s Utilities, OpenSSH, Launcher, and Doom.

Getting back to today’s piece of news, here’s something really shocking (or not, if you’re one of those guys addicted to computer infections): the iPhone threat was built by an 11-year-old kid!

“Already this New Year brings with it a new, albeit minor, annoyance for the legions of Apple iPhone users that have already weaned into their new phones for their everyday use. The culprit? A bored eleven-year-old”, Ma. Christina Cruz, of Trend Micro, wrote in a blog post.

The website that rolled the Trojan on the web is currently unavailable, as it was shut down soon after the security companies had reported the problem. “The link from which this Trojan can be downloaded is now down. But be assured — there will most certainly be more”, the Trend Micro official added.

So, just keep it in your mind, once you see a new firmware update for your iPhone, do NOT deploy it unless you’re 100 percent sure that it is safe and it cannot damage your device.

October 24, 2007 မွာ Mozilla Labs ကေန Mozilla Prism ကို စအသံုးၿပဳႏိုင္ဖို႔ စမ္းသပ္အဆင့္ (Beta) အေနနဲ႔ စတင္ပါတယ္။ Mozilla Prism ဆိုတာကေတာ့ Web Applications ေတြကို Desktop Applications ပံုစံလို Desktop မွာတင္သံုးႏိုင္ေအာင္ ေၿပာင္းေပးႏိုင္တဲ့ application တစ္ခုပါ။ ဥပမာ – Gmail လို mail service ကုိ web browser နဲ႔ မဖြင့္ပဲ ကိုယ့္ရဲ႕ Windows Start မွာတင္ pin လုပ္ၿပီး သံုးခ်င္ရင္ ကလစ္လုပ္သံုးႏိုင္တဲ့ ပံုစံမ်ိဳးပါ။ ကိုယ္ႏွစ္သက္၇ာ service ကို ခြဲထုတ္ထားႏိုင္ပါတယ္။ FaceBook, Google Reader, Blogger, flickr စတဲ့ သင့္ favourites web applications ေတြကို desktop မွာ တင္ explorer နဲ႔ ဖြင့္ သလို Web Browsers ေတြမပါဘဲ ဖြင့္ႏိုင္မွာပါ။

At first glance, Microsoft’s secret project looks like a 2007 version of the sit-down arcade game Ms Pac Man. Only if this machine were running the game, you could just take your finger and flick away any monsters chasing the heroine.

Microsoft on Wednesday is taking the wraps off ‘Milan’, five years in the making and the first in what the company hopes will be a long line of ‘surface computers’. The tabletop PC, for which Microsoft has created both the hardware and software, offers shades of the technology seen in the sci-fi thriller Minority Report. The whole unit is controlled entirely through touch — there’s no mouse or keyboard.

To paint, people can pick up a paint brush or just dip their fingers in virtual paint cups. Sharing photos is similarly intuitive — a stack of pictures can be easily sorted through and shared. To resize a photo, just stretch two fingers apart, while pivoting the fingers will rotate the image. More than one person can be interacting with the computer at a time.

“It’s very approachable,” said Pete Thompson, the former T-Mobile executive who runs Microsoft’s surface-computing business. “You just want to touch it.”

While consumers will be able to touch it later this year, most won’t be able to buy a surface computer any time soon.

The expensive components required to allow multiple users to touch the device simultaneously give it a price tag approaching $10,000 (£5,041). As a result, Microsoft isn’t targeting homes initially, though it hopes consumers can own their own Milan within three to five years. For now, Microsoft is focusing on getting the products into public spaces in the hospitality arena — hotel lobbies, restaurants and casinos, to name a few.

The company’s initial customers are T-Mobile, which will use the units in its retail stores; hotel operator Starwood, which owns brands including Sheraton and Westin; casino owner Harrah’s and slot machine maker IGT. Each of the initial partners should have a few machines up and running around November, Thompson said.

Thompson said the roll-out approach is similar to that taken by the tech industry with plasma displays, which were used in trade show booths for years while they were still too costly for the home.

Sheraton vice president Hoyt Harper said Microsoft’s tactic is pretty savvy, noting that many guests who might see the product in a Sheraton lobby could easily be among those who will buy one when it finally does go on sale widely. “I think that’s one reason they chose us,” he said.

Harper said the computers fit perfectly into his company’s efforts to turn its hotel lobbies into destinations rather than merely places people stop on their way somewhere else. That, he said, makes them easily worth their high price tag.

“How can you not take advantage of something that could materially change the guest experience in the lobby?” Harper asked. Initially, Sheraton plans to have three Milan machines at hotels in New York, Boston and Chicago, with two in each lobby and one in the club lounge. If that means people are lining up, he said, all the better.

“It will be a nice problem to have,” he said.

Another consideration, in addition to cost, is how well Milan holds up to wear and tear. Harrah’s chief information officer Tim Stanley wants to make sure the machines are built to last before he starts placing them in casinos on the Vegas strip.

If he puts one in the Pure nightclub, for example, “they might dance on [the] table”, he said. “Can it handle that?”

No MMS. This is really crazy, even an old Nokia model supports MMS – but not for the iPhone that claims to be a revolutionary phone. The only way to send pictures is via email, so no pictures for your friends who doesn’t use emails.

There’s no way to cut, copy, or paste text! Even my Sony Ericsson k800i can do this. It is just a phone that focus on its camera, but iPhone is more into smart phones. Think again.

Music can’t be used as a ringtone — even if it’s just a raw MP3. No additional ringtones will be sold at launch. Honestly speaking, we can use mp3 files as ringtones on almost all phones. But not for the newly launched iPhone? Crap

The mobile version of OS X or whatever it is the iPhone runs takes up 700MB of the device’s capacity. It means when you get a 4GB, there is actually only 3GB and when you get a 8GB, there is only 7GB. Good enough for me though.

No video recording, not even a low quality one. You can only take pictures with the 2 megapixel camera, but not video recording. No wonder they can’t make it a 3G phone, they don’t even support video recording for the primary camera.

Apple sez between 300-400 charges the iPhone will lose battery capacity — you’ll send it in and get the cell replaced for a fee. Oh well, speechless this time.

No, not only these. The listed ones are those which really bothers me. For a full list, head over engadget. Until Apple do something to improve the phone, it sucks big time. iPhone has a lot of great features but they have left out those basics one. Disappointment.
