Firefox turns 5 Years Old!!

Mozilla ရဲ႕ Firefox Web Browser က ဒီလထဲမွာပဲ ၅ ႏွစ္ၿပည့္ပါတယ္။ ဒီ browser က လက္ရွိအခ်ိန္မွာ market share လဲ ေတာ္ေတာ္မ်ားမ်ားရထားတဲ့ အၿပင္ developers အမ်ားစုရဲ႕ လက္ဆြဲ browser ၿဖစ္ေနပါၿပီ။ ေနာက္ Web Standards ေတြ လိုက္နာတဲ့ အၿပင္ HTML 5, CSS 3 တို႔လို draft ေတြပါ အၿမဲ support လုပ္ေပးနဲ႔ browser တစ္ခုပါ။

လက္ရွိ အခ်ိန္မွာ ၅ ႏွစ္ၿပည့္ ၿဖစ္ၿပီး သူ႔ဆိုဒ္မွာ animation video ေတြတင္ထားတာ ၾကည့္လို႔ ရတဲ့ အၿပင္ download ပါယူႏိုင္ပါတယ္။ ေနာက္ Flickr ဓာတ္ပံု tag အစီအစဥ္ရွိတာလဲ ေတြ႔ရပါတယ္။ ငါးႏွစ္ၿပည့္ ေၿမေခြး အတြက္ ဒီေနရာကေနပဲ ဆုေတာင္းေပးလိုက္ပါတယ္။

ဒီေန႔ေတာ့ အလုပ္မ်ားလို႔ ပင္ပန္းေနတာေၾကာင့္ အၿခားအေၾကာင္းအရာေတြ မေရးၿဖစ္ပဲ Firefox မွာ Themes ေၿပာင္းတဲ့ Plug In တစ္ခုၿဖစ္တဲ့ Personas (Read More Here!!) အတြက္ လုပ္ထားတဲ့ theme တခ်ိဳ႕ကို စုထားလိုက္ပါတယ္။

အခု အေပၚမွာ နမူနာၿပထားတဲ့ bokeh ဒီဇိုင္းေတြ OS X Space ဒီဇိုင္းေတြက လုပ္ထားတာေတာ့ ၾကာပါၿပီေနာက္ Personas Gallery မွာလဲ တင္ထားတာ ေတာ္ေတာ္ၾကာၿပီ အခုမွ တစုထဲပို႔စ္တင္ၿဖစ္ပါတယ္။ Mystery Zillion အတြက္လဲ theme တစ္ခု လုပ္ထားေသးတယ္ ဒီႏွစ္ အေစာပိုင္းက လုပ္ခဲ့တဲ့ ႏွစ္ပတ္လည္ပြဲတုန္းက လုပ္ထားခဲ့တဲ့ ဒီဇိုင္းကိုပဲ လုပ္ထားတာ။

လုပ္ထားတဲ့ အထဲမွာ MZ theme, Glossy Firefox theme ေတြက ပ်မ္းမွ် တေန႔ကို သံုးတဲ့သူ ၂၃၀၀ ၀န္းက်င္ေလာက္ေတာ့ ရွိတာေတြ႔ရတယ္။ အရင္တုန္းက ၁၀ ခုေလာက္တင္ဘူးတယ္ အဲဒီေကာင္ေတြ အပယ္ခံရတယ္ Movie ကားေတြက နာမည္ေတြ ယူသံုးလို႔လို႔ စာပို႔တယ္။ အမွန္ေတာ့ ဇာတ္ကားေတြ ၾကိဳက္လို႔ လိုဂိုထည့္လိုက္တာ အပယ္ခံရတာမ်ားသြားတာ။ ေနာက္ပိုင္းေတာ့ မအားလို႔ မလုပ္ၿဖစ္ေတာ့ပါဘူး။ ေနာက္မွပဲ လုပ္ၿဖစ္ေတာ့မယ္။ ေအာက္မွာ Gallery က ကြ်န္ေတာ္လုပ္ထားတဲ့ ၄ ခု link ေပးထားပါတယ္။

Mozilla Labs ကေန ဒီေန႔ Open Web Tools ဆိုုတာကုုိ စၿပီး launch (Labs) လုုပ္ပါတယ္။ ဒါနဲ႔ Open ဆုုိေတာ့ အလကားရမယ္ ေလ့လာလိုု႔ ရမယ္ဆုုိၿပီး ၀မ္းသာအားရ ေၿပးၾကည့္ပါတယ္။ ကြန္နက္ရွင္က မေကာင္းေတာ့ Refresh 5 ခါေလာက္နဲ႔ ၁၀ မိနစ္ေလာက္ ေစာင့္လိုုက္မွ ၿမင္ရပါေတာ့တယ္။ Open Web Tools ဆိုုတဲ့ အတိုုင္း powerful open source web based/ web technologies ေတြကိုု စုုစည္းထားတာကိုု ေတြ႔ရပါတယ္။

CSS Canvas ကိုု သံုုးထားတဲ့ Web Interface ၿဖစ္တာေၾကာင့္ မိတ္ေဆြၾကည့္ဖိုု႔ အတြက္ Firefox 3.0 +, Safari 4, Chrome 2, Opera 9 တိုု႔သံုုးမွသာ ၿမင္ရမွာ ၿဖစ္ပါတယ္။ Prototype Javascripting ကုုိသံုုးထားၿပီး lightbox, auto align, tool tips လိုု script ေတြသံုုးထားတာကလဲ ကြ်န္ေတာ့္ရဲ႕ အရင္ကတဲက မၾကိဳက္တဲ့ flash ကိုု ပိုုၿပီး စိတ္မ၀င္စားေတာ့ ေအာင္ လုုပ္ယူသြားႏိုုင္ပါတယ္။

Mozilla ကေန Firefox အတြက္ Add Ons Collections Packs ေတြကိုု စၿပီး လုုပ္ေပးေနတာ ေတြ႔ရပါတယ္။ Add-On ေတြ အမ်ိဳး အစားလိုုက္ၿပီး တြဲ ေပးထားတာပါ။ Web Developer’s Toolbox, Family Pack, Traveller’s Pack စသၿဖင့္ လိုုက္ဖက္တဲ့ Add on ေတြတြဲ ေပးထားတာပါ။

Editor လုုပ္ထားတဲ့ Collections ေတြ အၿပင္ ကိုုယ့္ဖာသာလဲ Collection အသစ္ လုုပ္လိုု႔ ရတယ္။ အခုုလိုု လုုပ္လိုုက္တာက add on ေတြ အမ်ိဳးအစားအလိုုက္ ရွာရလြယ္သြားတယ္။ အရင္လိုု add on submitter က category ခြဲတာ အၿပင္ users ေတြကိုုပါ ေပးၿပီး categorize လုုပ္ခုုိင္းတဲ့ သေဘာမ်ိဳးပါပဲ။ အၿခားေတာ့ ထူးထူးၿခားၿခား မရွိပါဘူး။ Pack ေတြ အလုိက္ အလြယ္တကူ သြင္းလိုု႔ ရတာမ်ိဳးသက္သက္ပါ။

Mozilla systems were quite busy earlier this morning so individual requests may not have gotten through – but they are all up now and serving a tremendous amount of traffic and downloads. We are currently serving almost 9,000 downloads a minute, which puts us on track to achieve 5-7 million downloads our first day of general availability.

To put some more color behind what’s been happening on this historic day:

We exceeded the first day download mark for Firefox 2 of 1.6 million after just five hours of availability for Firefox 3.
Net Applications is already reporting a 300% positive change in Firefox 3 market share worldwide just today.

The Firefox Support team (support.mozilla.com, or SUMO for short) would like to invite you to our first SUMO day! This Friday, starting at 7 AM PDT, we’ll be hosting a day all about getting to know SUMO and learning how to use our site to help other Firefox users enjoy their favorite browser.

If you haven’t already, this is a great opportunity for you to get involved with Mozilla, regardless of your interests or expertise. We need people to write articles, create screenshots, correct spelling and grammar, answer people’s questions in the forum, or interact directly with Firefox users in live chat — just to name a few of the many ways you could help us out. Even if you’re just curious to learn more about the project and don’t really plan on participating, we’d be really excited to have you joining us on Friday.

Of course, we’d be even more thrilled if you stayed with us throughout the Firefox 3 launch, which is going to be an exciting event for the SUMO project. Have a look at the SUMO Day home page for more information and please pop by on Friday!

Mozilla Labs ကေန Personas For Firefox ဆိုတဲ့ extension အသစ္ကို ယူဇာေတြအတြက္ ဖန္တီးလိုက္ၿပန္ပါၿပီ။ ဒီ Personass က prototype တစ္ခုၿဖစ္ၿပီးေတာ့ အေၿခခံထားတဲ့ ရည္ရြယ္ခ်က္က –

* themes today are too hard to find, install and use
* graphic designers should be able to style the browser without having to code
* browsers can be more than just desktop software, they can include online components
* people just want their computer to be a little more fun and personal
